The Museum of Foreign Debt is aimed at achieving one of the Public University building blocks, that is, the development of the University Outreach Program. This initiative is intended to contribute towards strengthening the bond between the School of Economic Sciences (Facultad de Ciencias Económicas) of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the particular community in which it works.

Similarly, the purpose of the above referred undertaking aims at developing a critical reflection scenario and, in turn, disseminating the Argentine foreign debt issue, which emerges as a clear-cut sign of the Higher Education Social Role, which is part of the Secretariat for Students´ Welfare agenda.

In light of the significance attached to the above mentioned issue in the Argentine people´s life, the Museum seeks to contribute towards the development of a historical memory, and in the same breath strenghten the investigation and promotion of such phenomenon as well as its impact upon the Argentine society.
